UFS 211 TASK 4

Topic sentence
Based on my own words.

There are about 6 stages of writing process. Firstly is getting ideas and inspiration, secondly Drafting, thirdly Revising, Fourth stages is Editing, fifth Proofreading, lastly Presenting.

But a good paragraph will include topic sentences, supporting sentences and concluding sentences.

A good topic sentence will tell the reader know what the story is about. A topic sentence tell the main point of the whole paragraph and supporting sentence to support the topic sentence with details and examples as proof of the topic sentence's point.

Example :
Money causes teenagers to feel stress. It makes them feel bad about themselves and envy other people. My friend, for instance, lives with her family and has to share a room with her sister, who is very cute and intelligent. This girl wishes she could have her own room and have a lot of stuff, but she can’t have these things because her family doesn’t have much money. Her family’s income is pretty low because her father is old and doesn’t go to work. Her sister is the only one who works. Because her family can’t buy her the things she wants, she feels a lot of stress and gets angry sometimes. Once, she wanted a beautiful dress to wear to a sweetheart dance. She asked her sister for some money to buy the dress. She was disappointed because her sister didn’t have money to give her. She sat in silence for a little while and then started yelling out loud. She said her friends got anything they wanted but she didn’t. Then she felt sorry for herself and asked why she was born into a poor family. Not having money has caused this girl to think negatively about herself and her family. It has caused a lot of stress in her life.
So the topic sentence for this paragraph : Money causes teenagers to feel stress.

A good topic sentence is always support by the supporting sentence:
Lastly, a paragraph must have Concluding Sentence that wraps up the whole point of the paragraph.
And the concluding sentence for this paragraph : It has caused a lot of stress in her life.

UFS 211 TASK 3

Stages of "Writing Process"

6 STAGES OF WRITING PROCESS

Based on my own word.

First Stages ( Planning )

- Ideas and Inspiration are very important and useful to start the writing process. We need an idea to come out with a lot of thoughts. Surely, we do need an inspiration from anything that may occurs to our brilliant idea to write a great story. Do lots of research and reading. Normally when we have many ideas, we need to plan which ideas is the best to use in writing, but according to its title.
  • Make sure that your writing is not out from its header.
  • procrastination is not good in writing.

Second Stages ( Drafting )

- In writing the first paragraph, our minds have to be out of its  shell. We need to be more creative to not really focus on grammar, spelling and punctuation. We need to write more than just based on the scheme in writing.

  • A stronger Opening paragraph attracts the reader to be more questioning on what will come in next draft.
  • The Body paragraph or discussion, we need to put on the ideas or aspect from it's topic.
  • Joined in with the explanation, example, facts or opinion to make the paragraph stronger.
  • Don't forget to beautify the verse with connecting words.
  • The Ending or Conclusion is needed to be in appropriate ways. Closing words may be in a statement so that the reader might be wondering and asking for more.

Third Stages ( Revising )

- To make sure that your writing is good and with no mistakes. When finished with writing, we need to read more than once. To figure out whether your topic is actually in it's shell or out of topic.
  • Should I remove or add on a part or even a word from the paragraph.
  • Is it enough word to convince the reader and if there's any statement that i should include in the text.
  • Does the text suitable with its connector.
  • Beware of using showing-off word or fancy word when you do even not know what does the word means.

Fourth Stages ( Editing )

- Some part of editing is like revising. Editing is more to be like changing your improper word to proper word. Language and technicalities first than the content.
  • Rules in English to obey. The right grammars, verb-to be are used correctly.
  • Dictionary to correct any words that you might not well in spelling it.

Fifth Stages ( Proofreading )

- After revising and editing, we need to do some proofreading before we come out with printing or email our writing. To make sure our writing is in order and complete with no mistakes such a small mistakes can turn the writing into many language errors. To prevent that, we do really need to remove those invisible blemishes away from our writing.

Sixth Stages ( Presenting )

- At last the last stages, Presenting. In presenting writing, we have to convince ourselves before trying to convince the reader with our writing. No errors in our writing, time for imperfect changes to perfect writing.
  • Handwriting is required to be in neat and legibly.
  • Computer, be consistent with its font, spacing and heading levels.
The writing process may be a hard or difficult to some of people. But the easiest way to be pro with writing is always be used with it.

UFS 211 - TASK 1

 WHAT IS LOVE TO YOU?

Love is 'Fragile' for me. It's very valuable and extraordinary gift from God's above. Love wins everything. It is very harmless and sweet. It's very fragile because it will easily be broken into pieces and nothing could stick it again. Love is like a glass, and when a glass is falling into the ground it will be broken, no glue or sticker could put them together unless we find a new glass to replace it. It will be same like love. It will be the same like love, when someone is feeling hurt or what people always call it broken-heart, separate with their loves one or love-rejected only times can fix it. Times will teach us to be patient. Love can wait because patient is a virtue. Love is the greatest thing in the world. Love could win in every battle in life. Even an enemy would be melt in love. Love is not a fake one, it is pure. Love sometimes hurt a person but actually love would definitely strengthen the weak one. Maybe it takes a long time to feel better when we break-up with our partner but the things is love would never end with sadness. But it ends with happiness. Loves can tell us which is wrong and which is the right path in life. It's all about choosing. Love is not about lust because love with carnal desire only bring us to contriteness. Love gains no hatred, it's simple to love people and it's not a difficult thing learn to apologize people when there is love in our heart. That's why i always put in mind that loves bring happiness to life and yet it is true.

Finally, the day has come, we've been waited for a week to present the Ghost Story Telling. It was the day that we'd be presented our ghost story titled 'She's so cold'. I played the Little girl ghost role and the rest of my group also had their own role in this group activities. Our Fashion's lecturer helped to make-up me. It was a scary face but funny because i had  a black face, i would never imagined that i would have  a look like that and even the real ghost would have nicest look than I am. Yet, we're feeling a little disappointed  with the class situation. It was not like what we expected to be. The class was not so dark as we wanted to use our props such as candles and torch light but overall our planned has running smoothly as we've practiced before. There are seven more group have presented their ghost story as well. It was a fun day but in fact that, we are more enjoyed the day instead of feeling scared. But the funniest thing happen is when some of girl are shouting and scared especially when our own lecturer, Madame Aty refused to see whenever there are student playing ghost role. I would loved  if we're in a darker place that time, it would be more interesting to feel the scene and we would never imagined what would happen in the class.

UFS201 - 4th Reflection Topic

This week we have learnt about three chapter. There are Modal Verb, Direct Speech/Reported Speech and Prepositions. It was quite hard than I thought it was. But I'll make sure that I could manage myself to understand this chapter much more better as the time goes by. As for 'Modal Verb', I had learnt something that I just realized after a long time that Permission and Request are two different things. Permission is an authorization granted to do something, whereas, Request is the act of asking for something to be given or done, especially as a favor or courtesy. At the same time, in 'Direct Speech and Reported Speech' chapter, Madame Aty had taught us on how to create a sentence. Indirectly, this subject had given me a lots of touched in English writing. It's helped me to change my broken English into Proper English especially in conversation. Last but not least, I'd learnt about 'Prepositions', and it's all about how to get a proper sentence. Great things to know that  I'd learnt a lots and even with a simple subject, it's actually helped me to gain more knowledge, to fill my empty knowledge to in-depth knowledge in English world.

"If I were in the class, I would have learn about 'Conditional Clause'." Madame Jane had taught us this subject in the previous semester so it was not too hard for me to catch up with this chapter. During the preparation session for the 'Matta Fair' event, I'd learnt something. I learnt to be more punctual and waste no time because time waits for no one. At the same time, to be a real Fashion designer, we actually starts our greatness from the bottom, we have to work at back stage. Changing the outfit for the models in only 1-3 minutes, there where we felt the stress are all came out. Some of the models are really abided the rules and some of them are very annoying. This kind of work is really fag out but despite of all there's a lot of funny things I get when I enjoyed the time of working at the back stage of fashion show.

I love learning things that i never get to used with. I felt comfortable with my new classmate so it gave me guts to take part in any activities in the class. I'd watched a short video and I preferred that the ending of the video would be a sad ending. The guy would never met the girl even when the girl received the boxes from him. She lost his number and never get a chance to thanked him.  The picture of him is only a memories.

Choose the best picture of yourself and post it in your blog.
Write in 100 words why that is your best picture.

This is the picture of me and my friends went to Genting Highland last year. I would like to say that this is the best picture because it is the most unforgettable moments in my life. I had the opportunity to ride on the Bumper-boat. So excited and it was fun to bump on other boat. They are my new friends that I get to know when I stayed in Kuala Lumpur last two year and eventhough I might know them for such a short time but it felts like we've been friends since childhood. The real fun that I had that time was the best feeling in my life.

1.Decide whether you are a Baker, Boffin, Butler or a Builder.
2.Based on this, give advice to yourself on how to improve your learning.

I am mix of Butler and Boffin. I should now learn to be more speedy in doing things. Not just do when people ask me to do like a butler only wait for a command to do things. I am good i know what happen, who and why like a boffin but still there are a lots of weaknesses in me. I should prepare myself from physical and mental, be more confident and independent. I must be a good learner, no more mix of butler and boffin. More focusing on my study and try harder to be hard-working and the same time, smart to be success.
